Biography- Pat Turlington illustrator of LambTalk
A native North Carolinian, Pat Turlington has won several prestigious awards for her artwork, including "Best in Show" at the 2007 Artfest in her home state. In addition, her pastel entitled "The Transfiguration" was chosen by Christianity Today to be a permanent part of their website's 2007 slide show.
Pat's versatility is seen in the variety of media she uses: watercolor, acrylic, pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, graphite and pastels. She studied art at UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a charter member of the Art Guild of Person County, North Carolina, and has been a driving force in its continuation and success.
Having taught English and art in the public schools of Person County and art at Piedmont Community College, Pat is now retired and does commissioned art work. She also enjoys visiting with her son, Kyle, and grandson, Ryan.
Note: Pat was happy to have been given the strength to complete the illustrations for Lambtalk , but after a long battle with cancer, she went to be with the Lord in March of this year (2009).

When I first talked to Pat about LambTalk and the need for an illustrator, I told her there was no guarantee of a monetary reward for her work. I asked her if, knowing that, she would be interested in doing the illustrations and Pat replied, "I'll pray about it and see what the Lord says." I knew then she was the kind of person I wanted to illustrate my book. She accepted the project. Prayer was her first step in illustrating each of these stories.
Even though she was taking chemotherapy and felt unwell at times, Pat still worked an untold number of hours to complete all the drawings. She said God gave her the strength she needed. How wonderful it is to be associated with such a gracious and talented believer!
